Bloody Gates , Bill...your Microsoft Sucks forever ! i wish it bankrupt tomorrow !

Microsoft Corp. said Thursday that prices for the Windows 7 computer operating system are largely in line with those for Vista, and that consumers who buy PCs before the new system goes on sale in October will get free upgrades.

To drum up demand among people who aren't in the market for a new PC, Microsoft also said it is taking limited pre-orders for Windows 7, selling some for as little as $50.

Windows 7 is Microsoft's first new operating system in almost three years. With Vista, Microsoft made under-the-hood technical changes that left other software companies and device makers scrambling to make their products work with new computers. Many didn't work at Vista's January 2007 launch; people also complained the new system was sluggish.

Microsoft is promising a smoother launch for Windows 7, in part because it's not a radical departure from Vista.

People who have tested near-final versions say Windows 7 boots and runs faster and spends less time nagging the user with alerts and pop-up windows than Vista does. It also tries to make it easier for people to navigate to frequently used Web sites, documents and tasks.

For customers buying new machines, the cost of the Windows software is typically included in the purchase price. The prices announced Thursday are for people who buy Windows separately or upgrade from older versions.

Consumers who buy Windows Vista Home Premium, Business or Ultimate computers starting Friday can contact the PC manufacturer for a free upgrade when Windows 7 becomes available on Oct. 22. Windows Vista Home Basic is not eligible for upgrade. The offer will run through January 2010.

Microsoft will record only about half the revenue it receives from selling those copies of Windows Vista before Windows 7 launches. The rest, about $200 million to $300 million in sales, will be recognized in later quarters, once the upgrades have been distributed or the program ends, whichever comes first.

The Redmond, Wash.-based software maker said it will cost people $120 to upgrade their existing machines to the Windows 7 Home Premium version, $10 less than the comparable Windows Vista upgrade software. Upgrades to the Professional and Ultimate versions will cost $200 and $220 respectively, the same as Vista.

By comparison, Apple Inc. said in early June that upgrades to its newest operating system, called Mac OS X Snow Leopard, will cost $30.

The cost is identical regardless of whether the upgraded machine was running Windows XP or Windows Vista.

Versions meant to be installed from scratch on a computer will cost $200, $300 and $320 for Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate.

Home Premium includes the updated look and feel first introduced with Vista, a new system for home networking, the ability to create DVDs and other features. Professional, the next level up, adds features to support people who might have to work from home or use their computer for work on the road. Ultimate is an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink edition with added data security and other features more commonly requested by big businesses.

Microsoft is pushing those versions, but it makes three more: Starter, Home Basic and Enterprise. Starter doesn't include the updated look of Vista or Windows 7 and is only available pre-installed by PC makers on certain types of hardware, such as netbooks. Home Basic is only available in developing countries. Enterprise is sold through volume license agreements to big corporate customers.

Vista's weak reception has prompted Microsoft to extend the life of Windows XP, an older system that is less profitable for the software maker.

This time, to goose early sales and build buzz, Microsoft is cutting the Windows 7 price by about half for people who pre-order upgrade software for Home Premium ($50) and Professional ($100).

The sale will start Friday in the U.S., Canada and Japan, and on July 15 in the U.K., France and Germany. It will last for about two weeks, or as long as allotted copies of the software last.

People can buy the software on Microsoft's download site or at retailers including Best Buy Co. Inc., which said it is limiting sales to three per customer.

Microsoft would not say how much it will cost to upgrade from a lesser version of Windows 7 to a more robust one. The company also declined to say what effect Windows 7 prices will have on netbooks, a popular category of small, inexpensive laptops. The low prices are possible in part because they run the older, cheaper Windows XP.

Microsoft said this month it is making a version of Windows for Europe that does not come with Internet Explorer, its Web browser, in an attempt to ward off sanctions from antitrust regulators there.

Brad Brooks, a corporate vice president for Windows marketing, said Microsoft hasn't had time to polish upgrade software for Europe, so it plans to sell the full version of Windows 7 to European Union consumers at upgrade prices at least through December.

Shares of Microsoft added 36 cents, or 1.5 percent, to $23.83 in afternoon trading Thursday.

Apple Snow leopard got attacked ! Mac no more safe ,it can infected with virus now

Well, I am sick of people eulogizing Apple's Mac OS X as the most impregnable OS that ever existed. They have all been straight over the fact that Mac OS X is virus-free. If any virus ever heard was all but a grapevine sprouting in MacRumors's News Discussion. For all those overconfident nerds, I would have to say not having virus doesn't essentially mean the system is immune to viruses. I'd of course agree to the fact that you find virus for Mac once in a blue Moon. The first ever Mac OS X virus was found in February 2006, and last night SophosLabs revealed a message sent to it claims to be the SRC CoDE of new Macintosh Worm.

SophosLabs released the OSX/Tored-Fam, that would provide a generic way to detect the future variants of the Tored family of malware.
Let's take a look at the contents of the message.

One of the files called ReadIt.txt contained the following text

RESPECT about what are you talking about me (cybercriminal..)
Dont say what you ignore !!!!!!!!

For more there was a new malware that Sophos detects as OSX/Jahlav-C. The malware can hide out what presents itself as a hardcore porn site. The OSX/Jahlav-C is the previous version of Jahlav that eventually runs a Perl script that uses http to communicate with a remote website and download code provided by the attacker.

This is a major concern over Mac security for the Apple team.
Is the Snow Leopard fully secured?

Now that Apple has finally acknowledged that Mac OS X are vulnerable to spyware and viruses threat, this includes the Snow Leopard. To counter the attack such as sandboxing and anti-phishing features in Safari, Apple would be introducing a new technology in Snow Leopard. However, this is not a 100% solution to protect against malware.

From what it seems to emerge, there are apprehensions of more Macintosh malware attacks in near future.

New iPhone OS 3.1

Apple upgraded the iPhone operating system with much ballyhoo in June, announcing some prominent inclusions like search and copy & paste. It time to deliver the claims, and the Cupertino computer seems to delivering the promises. One of the behind-the-scene upgrades that the iPhone OS was supposed to offer was the HTTP video streaming. There is less discussion over the vital feature, as it is yet to show up in the iPhone users' daily experiences. What remains to be understood is that the feature can revolutionize the way we perceive and use mobile video.

With HTTP streaming publishers can offer better video experience to the users through adaptive streaming techniques. Other services such as Microsoft, Adobe Systems, Move Networks, and Swarmcast already offer traditional proprietary real-time streaming protocol, instead of sending bulk of video over standard HTTP. The stream adjusts itself automatically to the highest quality, as the viewer receives the video. In case the connectivity goes low, it substitutes the lower-quality stream without interruption or buffering. This fall, Apple is expected to introduce HTTP streaming in Apple computers with the release of Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Fortunately, it's live on the iPhones.

Since Apple disclosed the HTTP streaming plans recently in the beginning of June, not much content is available for the format yet. Given that, Apple had let the plan to two encoding companies, Inlet Technologies and Envivio who plan to prepare solutions for content providers.

The most exciting part of Apple's HTTP streaming is that it is available via the iPhone's Safari browser, without having to download any application. Inlet as well as Envivio have prepared demonstration sites, which you can access to see video sharpen to adjust to your connection in real time. In both the sites you can view live-streaming, high-quality video, fast-loading in QuickTime directly from the mobile browser. At present, anyone who enables the technology is free to run it on 3G or Wi-Fi.

what happen to snow leopard?!

it's apple new operating system , a new baby of Mac 10.5 , shipping to Mac 10.6 .
but there big big problem for us !
1)Control panel restarts into 32-bit mode - Every time you use an older, third-party control panel, the entire control panel subsystem shuts down and restats in 32-bit mode. Very annoying.
2)Can't choose browser tab within Expose - Expose is better, but you still can't preview tabs within Safari and jump to them with a single click. Just copy Win7 here.
3)Command-click on stack opens wrong folder - Opens the parent folder, not the one you click on. Strange.
4)Long list of broken apps - Many apps don't work on Snow Leopard: http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
5)Not a compelling upgrade - Most changes are under the hood, no major feature upgrades. Not really worth the money.
6)Search for files by file size = can't view any of the results' file sizes!
7)Can't maximize windows

SO TO ME, THE MAC OS SNOW LEOPARD IS JUST A COMPLETE FAILURE FOR APPLE THIS YEAR.
note :- The screenshots above are from the first externally distributed build of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. The build number is 10A96 and was distributed to developers at Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference during the week of June 9, 2008.

Funny that as its name implies (a variation of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard), Snow Leopard will effectively be a beefed-up version of Leopard. No major new features are planned, instead Apple is working to substantially optimize the code so that everything on a Mac runs faster with more security and stability.

While Snow Leopard is said to be fully 64-bit, as the screen shots show it will work on 32-bit (Core Solo and Core Duo) Intel processors. It will not be compatible with PowerPC, although Orchard Spy has learned that Apple is at this point continuing to churn out builds for PowerPC—but only internally.

Self-confessed UFO hacker Gary McKinnon has been denied the chance to appeal to the Supreme Court against his extradition to the US.
